Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the American is an actor comedian, activist, and actress. She was born to Jewish parents in the Soviet Union and started her career as child actress after she moved to the United States. She came to prominence for her roles in AT&T television commercials as saleswoman Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and , since then, until the year 2020. She also was a regular series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She was also regular on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub was originally chosen to play the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's pilot that was never aired for New Warriors in 2018, has been voiced that role since. Vayntrub is a Jewish person, was born in Tashkent (Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic), USSR. Her parents and she were exiled from antisemitism by the age of two. They settled in West Hollywood. She began performing in Mattel Barbie commercials at the age of five due to the family's financial troubles. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. She dropped out of the school in her sophomore year. She earned a GED and later went on to get an undergraduate degree in Arts (Communication) from the University of California San Diego. She was introduced to improv comedy through the Upright Citizens Brigade.
